Depends what colour you hair is naturally!..if your a blonde a caramel brown is the best colour to go, if your already brown then go for a darker brown..WARNING: I dyed my hair permanent black last year..for the first while it was great, the change i wanted, then it came into summer and i felt really dark, it cost me 170euro to have the permanent black strippped from my hair and my hair colour is only now starting to get back to its natural colour..the great things about a brown hair color is that you can always get blonde or copper highlights to brighten your hair up, youl appreciate that during the summer trust me!hope it turns out well!

Perhaps you need a darker shade. Usually on the side of the box, it will show you if you have a blonde hair, your hair will look like this... etc. This can show you how much darker, or lighter your hair will be once the dye is used. You can also determine what your hair color will look like once dyed by dying only a small strand hidden from most people's views, this way you can decide if you like the color or not, w/o ruining your hair and wasting all your money. Don't forget to follow the instructions on the box exactly, keeping it into long might damage your hair, or maybe have no effect at all..who knows? I hope this helps!!!!

With an olive skin tone, you could probably do either. BUT, I'd stay with dark brown. When you get tired of it, it will be WAY EASIER to change or to add highlights to, than black would be. If you got tired of black and wanted it gone, it is very difficult to get rid of. A pro colorist would have enough of a challenge getting it all out if/when the day came you decided it was time to change.
You could do dark brown with a golden undertone or a mahogany undertone would be beautiful too.

id go dark brown, black looks very gothic and looks a bit tasteless when people dye it jet black, brown on the other hand will give a twon tone effect depending on the light your under
mines naturaly dark brown, and can occasionaly look blackish, so maybe darl brown would give you the best of both worlds

Dark brown. Black always looks fake and looks kinda blue. Also most people with naturally black hair have just a little brown in it anyway.

If you have somewhat pale skin, I would avoid black.
