I'm 13 and I really want to get a perm but I'm scared it will mess up or turn out badly. I want a tight spiral perm. I have thick blonde hair, naturally straight, that has been highlighted before but the highlights are growing out. I'm planning on getting this done over Labor Day Weekend but I'm scared things will turn out badly.

Can someone please give me the pros and cons of getting a perm?
Can anyone share their experience with getting a perm (good or bad)?
Am I too young to get a perm?
Will this ruin my hair?

Any and all help is appreciated. I'm just sort of scared about all of this. I just want to know everything there is to getting a perm.

Thank you so much! :)

Do not do it. I was around 13 when I got my first perm. It screwed my hair ALL the way up. I had long pretty hair before my perm, but whenever I went outside it puffed up and got curly so I wanted a perm to keep it straight, it didnt really work too good because my hair is really thick. It made my hair soooo damaged to the point where I chopped it all off. It made it dry and brittle. I hadn't had anything before that horrible perm and regret getting it daily in my life.

It also made my hair reallllly short in the middle. And I mean so short about the length of a normal sized thumb. I read other stories of that happening to other people too. Honestly nothing good comes from a perm. I HIGHLY suggest you don't get it, or wait until your old enough to pay for a PRO PRO perm-putter-inner. Idk, just don't get it.

It will ruin your hair if you do not take care of it make sure you baby your hair after the perm deep condition every week and wash every couple of days.
