My natural hair color is dark blonde to light brown. For years now i have has blonde highlights.Last winter i had my hairdresser color my hair brown. When summer came i was ready to go back to a heavier blonde highlight. This winter i went to my hairdresser and told her i was tired of coming in all the time because of my roots. She suggested a dark blonde color with a few highlights. When she was done it looked good.So i go back in 2 months and ask for blonde highlights only. She highlights my hair with another color plus a blonde and it's been 2 weeks and it looks brassy red to orange.I don't think she leaves the blonde on long enough because the blonde highlights look yellow.Anyway what i want is to be a heavier blonde on top without all this brassy color. What is the best way to achieve this and what is the best thing to put on my hair for split ends from all the coloring? Thanks

try using a purple shampoo for blondes. it has purple dyes in it that cancel out the reddish tones/ brass in your hair. If that doesn't work buy a color that's identical to yours, but in a tone that's labeled "cool". Natural Match makes it really easy to figure out what's what.

Sounds like you need a toner- you can have your stylist do it, or there are "purple" shampoos available at salons and beauty supply stores that help with the brassiness. I used to use the All Nutrient brand, it's organic and not as harsh on your hair as some can be.

As far as the damage from coloring, try L'anza Trauma Treatment- It's a serious leave in conditioner from their color care line. It's expensive, but it's the best.

Also check out www.stylistbook.com ... you'll be able to ask questions directly to stylists.

try using a violet blonde toner shampoo and conditioner. it will help bring out the puple undertones in your hair that will make it less brassy. you can get it fairly cheap at places like sallys. but they pretty much only sell it at salons or salon suppliers.

stay away from the john frida blonde collection though! this will only make is brassier.

you could always go back to the salon and asked to have it toned.

[didnt realise the girl before me said the same exact thing lol o well]

i'm blonde and tutor swim training each and every weekend so my hair turns eco-friendly from the chlorine. i exploit a clairfying shampoo and purple conditioner by skill of AG (the conditioner's talked approximately as sterling silver). the shampoo removes extra grit/brassiness, and the conditioner greater importantly evens out the hue. My hair is organic blonde nevertheless, so i'm no longer totally specific if it works on dyed hair...yet i might reccomend giving it a attempt. They sell it at Chatters.

I would change salons.

If the girl that does your hair isn't competent, you should find someone else.

And the best thing for Split ends is to use mayonnaise, leave it on for twenty minutes, then shampoo out and use a deep conditioning masque.

I prefer brunette over blondes and it doesn't matter to me if the hair is curly or perhaps not

Depending on my mood (and there are many, just like my personalities) I feel that proceeding from black hair to blonde is actually like- BAM! in your face, see me- here I am, is this specific not the greatest thing you have got ever seen.
