I am 16. I have a Mustache. I wanna cut it of but if I shave it it will come back thicker. I was told that if you shave at a young age. You start looking older quicker. Like I am 16 and I like fairly young. I could pass for 14 or 13 (I know that's sad). I know people who shaved at 14 and they look 16-17. but the problem is I don't like the Mustache.. I look like Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite. So if I trim it will it come back faster and thicker. I have been testing it.. and I have never shaved and I look really young. If I start shaving now.. I will start looking way older. But If I don't shave now.. and keep the stache till I'm like 18. Then when Im like 40.. I would look younger then my friends who are 40 too.

Shaving will not make it come back thicker, and it will not make you look older quicker. Those are both myths.

After you shave, the hair that is growing back has a blunt end from where you cut it with your razor, so it looks heavier than a hair that was never shaved because hairs naturally have a tapered tip. But the hair will not be thicker, and it will not grow faster, and the difference in the tip of the hair will be gone in a few weeks.

Puberty will make your mustache thicker, whether or not you shave it.

It won't make a difference much if you start shaving now or if you wait til later it will eventually grow in once you hit a certain age but at 14 it's probably not going to grow in very thick so I would recommend shaving it if you like the clean look. Besides your going to have to do start doing it anyways as you get older and it wont just be a mustache you'll have to shave the rest of your facial hair as well.

Hair doesn't change it's growth from shaving. It naturally gets thicker as you age, and people falsely correlated that with shaving.

Bottom line, shave if you want. Your hair will grow the same whether you shave or not.

That's just a myth. Go ahead and shave it all off, it will only feel like it grows back faster.

And your idea on looking younger...ain't gonna work. Just shave the stache so you won't look dumb

no shaving won't make it come back faster. that's a myth. hair doesn't know when you shave it, it only seems thicker because your cutting it off at the root where the hair is coarser.
