Hi,
I'm 28 and am going gray since I was 17. About a 1/3 of my hair is gray now. I'm sick of people passing comments about my gray hair but don't want to dye it. Is there anything that I can do to restore my hair colour. Any positive advice would be gratefully excepted?

Hi. I don't think there is anything you can do other than coloring it but if you don't have a problem with it who cares what others have to say! My 1st husband Alan I met when he was 28 (Seriously) was pretty gray. I liked it, I thought he looked distinguished. It's your hair though. If you don't like it, color it! Men and women do stuff everyday to alter the way we look. Make-up, hairstyles, shaving, even the clothing we choose is based on what we think makes us look better! You have every right to color your hair if it makes you feel better. The same goes for not coloring it! Do what makes you happy! My boyfriend now has 90% gray hair. He's handsome as can be! Good luck!

I'm afraid that I am not expert enogh to know how to change your hair colour without dye of some sort. However, I think that your hair is just fine!! Some of the most attractive people I have met have been those that have turned prematurely grey/white. Think of all the money that men and women pay for frosting, and bleaching. I know it is hard to swallow...but sometimes we are made the way we are supposed to be and, once accepted, will really learn to love the special side of ourselves. I hated my teeth, but lost them due to health problems---Oh, how I wish I had them back. Don't listen to people passing comments, they are just rude.[

Nothing short of dying it will get rid of the grey i'm afraid. It's clearly in your genes to go prematurely grey. I take the mick out of my boss cos his hair has been going grey for a couple of years. And my hubby has a few streaks which i take the mick out of too - although i don't know why i do, because actually i think grey hair on a bloke is rather sexy.

If people continue to comment, just say something like 'i'm thankful to have hair at all - grey hair is better than no hair' then smile and leave it at that.

im not sure if theres a way to restore your hair colour since its been gray since you were 17...have you gone to a doctor about this? they may be able to refer you to a specialist who can find out what the problem is?

also im not sure why you dont want to dye it but if its because of the chemicals they have 100% natural hair dye in certain places? if its because of the effort then it may be something you have to weigh up. whats more annoying: dying your hair every few weeks or people making comments about your hair?

besides that im not sure what else you can do. i would just make jokes to be honest. eg everyone knows george clooney is called a ''silver fox'' because he looks amazing with grey hair. there are other ''silver foxes'' out there. anyway maybe next time someone says something just be like ''yep thats rights im on my way to becoming a silver fox like george clooney haha. you guys jealous?!". i dunno i kinda just made that up but you get my drift.

you could also tell people to stop making comments and im sure they'll stop. but you'll have to do it everytime you meet someone new

good luck! :)

If it's a genetic thing then your best bet (sorry to say it) is a cover up approach using dyes. The fact that you've been going gray for this long is definitely unnatural, so there may be something in your diet or lifestyle that's causing this. For instance if you're a chain smoker you're killing your follicles with every cigarette. If you're determined not to dye your hair or change your lifestyle your only other choice is to go to a doctor and see your options.

i wouldn't be freaking out! i know a 20 year old guy who is balding..... not gray but surely balding and has all fake teeth! but also the best looking guy i've ever seen!!!!!! personally i think that it doesn't matter if you have some gray and that the people that say rude things are so nasty that karma will bite them in the butt and they'll be looking 65 by the time they're 40 but if it bothers you so much you can do some coloring!!!!

good luck

Bet it looks cool, why should you care about daft comments. If you really need to change things, then have a chat with a really well informed hairdresser, and your doctor as well, who could put you in touch with a Specialist on the subject. However, dare to be different, I feel you have the Personality The best of luck whatever you decide

properly, it relies upon on the unconventional. I genuinely have examine a special (s ), of a incredibly everyday length, in approximately 7 hours. once I grow to be engrossed in a great tale, the unconventional follows me virtually everywhere. on occasion, i'm virtually upset while the story ends with the aid of fact it became into so desirable . Am I the only one that feels this way ?? Have a action picture star !! Ruth

Grey hair is sexy on a guy. I suspect the people "passing comments" are gormless halfwits themselves so keep your hair as it is and just curl your lip up at the dumb asses and snarl back. Girls can get away with dying their hair, guys tend to only manage the Silvio Berlusconi look, which is far from good.

Im sorry you get so many comments about it...the only thing I could think of would be to dye it. Or just tell them you like your hair like that

I remember an ad about a product that progressively give you back your natural hair colour, after several applications.

Dunno if it works though...
