Ok, I'm going to clear up and misconceptions here.

First off box color is extremely damaging in and of itself so repeated use is very harmful.

I color my new growth every 4 weeks or so with a professional color and its pretty healthy but then again I work in a salon so it better be!

The other thing is that box color is considered a progressive dye, and what that is a dye that does not rinse out of your hair strand ever and it keeps darkening your hair.

As far as just coating the hair that is also a myth, what the color has to do is open the cuticle.

The cuticle is like a door in your house.

The developer in your color opens the door so the color can go inside.

But unlike professional products that can close the cuticle (door) the progressive dyes leave that door wide open so your hair is permanently damaged until it gets cut off.

yes there are cosmetic ways to make it look healthier but it will continue to be dull in appearance.

I think that covers most of it.

What came to mind right away is this. Do not wash it the day of the event. After years of experience, as well as hearing tips by celebrities, it has been shown that hair is much more manageable if you don't wash it for a day. So if you want to fix up your hair in a particular style the day of an event, wash it the night before. Let the natural oils in your scalp help you so that when you go to straighten/curl sections, they will stay that way much longer than if you had washed it that same day.

I've done this as well. If I shower the night before and let my hair dry naturally, I can fix it the next day and if I flat iron it, the texture is smoother and won't frizz out during the day. Also, if you decide you want to curl it, the curl will hold much longer than if you had washed your hair right before.

Dying your hair darker puts your hair in better condition, it coats your hair instead of stripping it. But once a month is kind of unnecessary. Maybe like once every month and a half or two months.

properly I do the two and the roots of my hair are merely approximately completely healthful however the ends are chop up and fried previous perception, yet this is likewise by using fact I dont use warmth protector DX so i'm basically a multitude. yet i'm getting my hair trimmed each and every of the time and that i exploit remarkable hair shampoo and conditioner, and my hair stylist says its extraordinarily solid for all I placed it by using. yet i think of straightening ur hair widely used and not utilising warmth protector is worse by using fact this is consistent injury and no therapeutic time

Bleaching is extrememly rough are your hair, but so is dying it. If you do it every month...that's ALOT of chemicals damaging your hair. It might not look like it right now, but your hair definately won't be healthy after a few months of doing this.

You should be fine as long as you use semi-permanent dye.

There's no reason to be using permanent unless you have grays to cover-up, which you're young and I'm sure you don't :)

yes and no it depends on if you are doing it or you are getting it done by a professional and are you treating it every time you color it.
