Every time I take a shower my skin gets pretty dry so everyday I use lotion all over my body. The only place I don't put it is on my head. I thought using a good shampoo would help but my scalp still feels really dry and its flaking even though I bought bosley daily shampoo and conditioner which has been given great reviews and its expensive. I've been using the shampoo and conditioner daily for almost a year.

I did research and found JoJoba oil which I was wondering if I could apply to my scalp daily after a shower to moisturize my scalp. And if I can apply it daily, will it make my hair look greasy? And whats the best way to apply it to my head?

Yes - Jojoba oil is the perfect oil for moisturizing your scalp and should not make your hair look greasy. Just massage a few drops of jojoba into the hair and scalp, after washing and towel drying hair, then lleave in hair for at least 20 to 30 minutes, then rinse.

Jojoba oil is a non-greasy oil that is extremely similar to the body’s natural sebum. It is closer in composition to the natural body produced sebum than any other substance.

The scalp can will benefit from jojoba oil, as it provides moisture to the scalp and encourages the sebum gland to produce the correct amount of oil. Most chemical ingredients take away too much oil and leave the scalp dry causing more problems. Jojoba oil is good for inflamed scalps because it is non-irritating. It is able to work from the inside out rather than just coating the hair. This allows it to restore hair that it damaged or frizzy.

Jojoba oil is great for the skin also. It is able to penetrate, remove excess oil, and clean pores. It is useful on all skin types. Jojoba oil contains vitamin E and antioxidants that fight free radical and reduce wrinkles. The antibacterial qualities of jojoba oil are great for treating acne.

Hope this helps!

You rarely have to apply oil to your scalp, since it already creates its own natual oil (Sebum). Oiling your scalp will make your whole head greasy! You do, however, have to apply oil to hair and the ends and jojoba is great! It helps with the split ends and breakage. Use jojoba and coconut as a deep treatment. Also make sure you purchase these products at a health foods store or the vitaminshop or GNC. the beauty supply store sometime sells these items, but if you read the label they are loaded with petrolium (aka liuquide vasaline which is bad for your hair!)
