Dead ends...?

Question

I want to grow my hair out as long as possible, so if I go to the salon and ask to have my dead ends cut off only while keeping as much length as possible, would they understand what I mean?

Would that be the best thing to do since I want long hair, or should I just not cut it at all?

the thing with dead ends is the longer you keep them the bigger and further they go up the head.

so if you wait ages to get them cut off the more you'll have to get cut off, if that makes sense.

ask them to cut off all your dead ends but let them know you want to grow it longer as well, that way they wont give you a bob.

once all your dead ends are off start using a thermal protector before you straighten or blow dry your hair and this should prevent you from getting more split ends.

also get regular hair cuts, only trims, so that the dead ends dont go up higher through the hair.

Tell them you want a dusting. Cause sometimes with a trim they take off the dead ends and more. But with a dusting they take off some of your dead ends and let your hair grow out then cut off the rest so that your hair won't be "cut". If you don't cut it at all you'll have dead ends and your hair won't look that healthy, as it would if the dead ends were removed. (:

When you go to the salon tell the beautician that you know your ends are dead but you would like her to gradualy cut your dead ends .So maybe you need to go tothe salon every two weeks and get a special conditioner and trim

If you keep the dead ends, you hair will continue to split. The besrt thing to do is talk to your hairdresser an dlet her know exactly what you want to do. She may advise you to get rid of all the dead ends and start that way. It all depends on how bad your ends are. Good Luck!!

They will understand. Just go in and say you want the dead ends trimmed off and you want to maintain as much lenght as possible. They will have your hair looking beautiful in no time. :D
