Both my parents have thinning hair, but my brother has really forested thick hair! If this is generic, then can my hair still be helped??? What can I do to improve my condition? My mother is anemic so I was wondering if I am too anemic, I need to take iron supplements to promote hair growth?

Last question, does hair protein cream works to promote hair growth? Thanks I need answers badly.

THe first thing I'd do is try to rule out the obvious: hair breakage. if you're hair is breaking off then it makes your hair thinner. Make sure breakage isn't the cause of your thinning hair. You can tell breakage from shed hair. Shed hair has a little white bulb at the end where it was attached to the scalp; you have to look closely to see it. Breakage happens at the ends of your hair and will not have that bulb, also the hair that is broken off will be shorter than your actual hair length, if that makes sense.

The second thing I'd do is compare my hair now to what I know of my hair in the past. Has your hair always been thinner on that one side? Everyone's whole head is not the same level of thickness. what I mean by this is that one part of your hair might naturally be thicker than the other part. The back of my hair is very thick, while the front of my hair is thinner and has a medium thickness to it. THis is naturally how my hair is. See if this is the same for your hair.

Thirdly, if I rule out one and two, then it's probably genetic, since mom and dad have thinning hair. Your brother obviously got his thickness from another family member, maybe aunt, great granddad, grandma, or whoever. I don't know if there's anything that can help genetically thinning hair. You can see a dermatologist about it to if there is something s/he can prescribe.

Fourthly, if it's not genetic then thinning hair can also be a sign of ill health, in which case you should see a doctor.

Good luck.

[EDIT] One more thing, someone else mentioned stress, and I just want to say that stress can cause hair loss, and like I said earlier, hair loss makes your hair thinner. So if you're really stressed, then find ways to relieve it.

Hi i have seen your pics and can see the difference.

Your hair can still be helped even though this is generic. To improve your condition you will need to take action and get educated on the problem itself before you can get a solution. I will give you both right now.

Normally when another family member is anemic you too will be anemic.

You need to use a hair treatment like provillus. I've been on it for 5 weeks and i must say there is a major improvement in my part. It has all the vitamins your hair needs and much more.I've used it and I had very good results.Provillus contains the only FDA-approved topical ingredient clinically proven to re grow hair.

I am sure this product will be worth your time for a second look since your money would be going into the right hands. In a survey conducted, 18 out of 20 people experienced a drastic change after using this product. None experienced any side effects.

Provillus offers the best possible and perennial solution for this problem for both men and women. One of the best parts of the provillus treatment is that it uses natural ingredients. This has accounted for its rising popularity. Thus it leaves the other products behind in this context, since most of the products contain harmful chemicals.

Provillus basically functions by removing the main cause of hair loss i.e. DHT. DHT damages the hair follicles and is responsible for the thinning of hair. It also restricts the re-growth of new hair. Provillus prevents its formation and it also promotes the growth of the new hair.

I use it once a day every evening. The area which i was balding in was the top middle portion of my head, not sure why cause no one in my family is loosing hair accept me so its not genetic. I have regrowth in that area, few strands are coming up and my wife says its so much better than it was before.

Well you might be aware that it is available for both men and women. The saw palmetto extract is basically present in the men's version whereas a combination of acids is present in the female version. Thus in addition to the solution of problem of hair loss it also nourishes hair.

Till now Provillus has been getting positive feedbacks so you needn't worry and instead be assured. It offers the its users complete satisfaction.

Ok, I understand what you are going through but please don't lose hope :) the first thing you need to ask yourself is "am I eating right?" for healthy hair and a healthy body altogether you need to get sufficient nutrients from each food group...for hair basically you'll need to get your vitamins, this includes fruits and vegetables not forgetting sunlight which promotes the amount of vitamin d in your body. The next thing you need to ask is "am I consuming enough water?" water is very important in having healthy hair...it keeps the hair moisturized and also shiny. Then you need to treat your hair properly by not using any harsh chemicals and excessive heat on it. I'd recommend you use natural products, they may be a bit expensive but they're worth it. With hair protein cream I'm not too sure because I've never used it but like I said before if it is all natural then it's ok. Good luck on getting that problem sorted out..hope I helped :D

It is genetics. Both parents have thinning hair and you both have a double dose.

As for your brothers thick hair genetics do not stop at your parents. grandparents etc are also involved in that equation.

What to do? Not much now unless your parents approve of you going to a hair specialist.

those over the counter creams are designed to take your money that's all.

Best not to stress over it. There are plenty of sexy men who are bald.

Your hair looks normal, I don't understand why you're freaking out. I expected to see actual scalp when I clicked on the links. Your hair actually looks really greasy at the roots.
