She usaly goes to the hair dresser but as money is very tight she bought a box of stuff off the shelf, she is now orange. Has any one got a cheap but effective way of cooling it down and making it look more blonde than orange. Someone mentioned tomatoe sauce!!!

get a dark ash blonde or a light ash brown hair color and color over the orange if you keep lifting it it's going gto get really damaged. if you add color it wont damage any more just fill in the holes created by the lifting process. just make sure to deep condition her hair in two weeks and when she blow drys her hair make sure she uses a serum to protect from damage. to deep condition her hair take some of (your) good quality conditioner and put it in her hair and cover it with a shower cap (plastic bag) and let sit for 30 minutes and then rinse out with cool water. well girl good luck ...

Sue that company

If it says blonde on the box it should be damn blonde not orange. You could wash your hair 3-4 times in a day this way your wearing the colour off and it will hopefully get lighter or you can just go out and buy a colour remover they also sell them in the hairdressers or simply buy another dye dark or light to cover it up. Good Luck Girls .. x

What u can do is grab another permanent haircolor box that has a name like ASH blonde. Doesnt have to be an expensive one. The ash in it will tone down the orange. And appear more blonde. At least it will fix it permanently rather than a temporary fix.

Hope this helps!

Tomato sauce will help reduce the brassyness; but it may be too late for that.

A good colourant is L'Oreal Casting Creme Gloss; get a shade you like and redye it to cover it up then use industrial strength conditioner to make sure it's not too dry.

the only thing u can do is buy some blonde hair dye. get one that is a blue out type of bleach. try sallys, they will be able to tell u which one. this will take the orange out. i have been there. her hair is going to be very dry after this so also get a very good conditioner for dry/damaged hair.

ok slow down and listen, my sister in law is in school to be a hair dresser. so im her dummy, when i say dummy i mean dummy, like a neon orange was my color, (light brown then supposed to be platimum) anyways, when she messed up we called her momma (she has actually finished hair school) she told us to first get some conditioner and leave it in my hair all day long, use a shower cap, then you need to go to a beauty care store such as sallys get a toner, this will take the brassy orange looking color out. it will still be slightly orange, but the blond will be more promident. this is the cheapest way to fix it, if you still are not satisfied, then you need to go to the salon, but try this first it worked on me! it cost only about 10 for the toner

Here is a website i found, they may be able to help you but i think your better off at the salon with the professionals! Peroxide kills the hair! Its not good and it can actually make her hair snap off!!

You could also try some of these--

Get a 10.3 colour which is a nice golden blonde

garnier dye is good... although i got a golder/blonde dye, and as my hair is naturally dark, it hasn't turned out the colour on the box... it's lighter, but not the same.

you maybe need to use a lightening treatment first? or go to the hairdressers. they would be able to dye it the right colour, and avoid orange-ness!

Hope you get it sorted!!

either your daughter has has a previous colour in her hair or she has red somewhere inbetween.. you need to put a toner on it to bring the colour down, nothing is going to get rid of the orange effect apart from a professional product...a hairdresser at this point would put a purple rinse over it to bring the tone down a few shades.

2 options

1) go to hairdressers and have sorted

2) dye a darker colour - let the bleach grow out

i know its not what you wanted to hear!!!lol...we've all done it though

you may look on the back of the box of hair color and get the Customer Support # and ask them.

If not, I would be tempted to try another (Brand)hair color.

If her hair was dark and she tried to go light, she may have not left the color on long enough. Generally 40 minutes is the time frame. At least for me..........

get a blonde toner from chemist. this should help. you should put conditioner on for 10 miniute after the toner has been washed off to help her hair stay in good condition. hope this helps

yes but it means re dyeing it might come out even worse! id just go over it with brown , or if she really whats blond get a lighting kit that should do the trick ...

i've never heard of using tomatoes.

i think you should either invest in a good hair dye to set things right, or give her some highlights to go with it

LOl woaaaah

tomatoe sauce will not help

I promise

I think your best bet would be to do it right and either go in to the stylist, or you could buy a box of color remover, and dye it dark
