I used to be blonde, now i'm a dark blonde, almost brown. And my hair is thinning. I'm thinking of dying it but I don't know if I should go darker to make the hair I have more visible, or lighter to make what little I have blend with my scalp to make it less obvious. I'm at the stage in hair loss where I have SLIGHT loss at the back of the head, and receding hairline at the front. Please offer advice!!!!

You probably shouldn't dye your hair at all, that will just thin it out even more. If you do dye it though, dye it a lighter color. Less noticeable.

Darker hair always looks thicker, and dark hair dyes (as opposed to bleaches) are surprisingly quite conditioning and have a slight thickening effect as the go into the hair.

Don't waste time looking for magic tests and potions. Incidentally Hair DX has 70% accuracy, which sound good until you realize that that means it correctly detects whether 7 out of 10 men have hair loss or not. Considering hair loss effects 40% of men you can just guess 4 out of 10 correctly, and as at least 2 of the 10 men with hair loss will have visible signs you're up to as many as 6 or 60% without spending a penny.

There are loads of concealers out there which work much better than the old-fashioned sprays or creams. Have a look at Dermmatch or Nanogen, Nanogen works particularly well if you're in the early stages of thinning, as you only have to use a little to really thicken up the thinning hair.

They're finding now that some forms of baldness are caused by build up of toxins in the environment etc. I would try something like "Jason's Thin to thick hair elixer, shampoo and conditioner first to see if that works. You can usually get that at a health food store. My hair fell out (in areas) from over-dying several times and this worked like a charm. I have heard that some of these remedies have worked for male baldness as well.

Secondly, dying is very hard on your hair, especially if you use heavy chemical dyes. And bleaching is actually worse, it will make your hair dry and brittle. After a while, you will probably have to give your hair a break if you choose bleaching.

To answer your question though, I would suspect that blonde "highlights" might be the ideal solution. If your hair is one solid colour, it might draw the eye to the balding areas faster, if you have blonde highlights, it might make your hair a little busier and hide the thinning areas a little better.

If you choose to get highlights though, I would recommend the "foil" method of dying. Sometimes hairdressers do highlights with the rubber cap and crochet hook. They pull strands through the holes in the rubber cap and then bleach it out. Not only does it hurt like mad but it's harder on the hair and scalp. The foil method costs a little more but it's a much gentler process and will put less stress on you and your scalp.

I highly recommend letting your barber do your hair. For $30 is a great deal. I charge $60 for men. So pay the $30 and get it done right. I use Matrix color Sync. It is an excellent color and grows out naturally. It won`t leave a harsh outgrowth line. I don`t think going darker would be such a great idea though. He should try to match your color, or even just slightly lighter. Darker will make your head shinier. Good Luck!!!

Your hair is thinning because it's crying for help and adding more chemicals without first finding out a 'cause' why your hair is crying out for help is going to add the the 'problem'.

Do you already know that your HAIR LOSS is hereditary? Then, it really doesn't matter at this point what color your hair is, because you're the doctor. Heck, even doctors don't have all the answers.

Go to Hair DX and read why the try to fix it, then once that's fixed, then dye it.

Yes, you should not die your hair because the chemicals won't help with the thinning. If you die your hair a lighter color, don't die it a bright blond, try a really sandy blond because it won't draw attention. OR, if you have a bald spot, try dying the hair around it a light brown/tan. I hope that this helps!

Hair loss affects both men and women. Here are some natural remedies that can help boost hair growth: https://tinyurl.im/aH7gs While genetics plays a role, there are other factors, including: hormonal imbalances, an underactive thyroid gland, nutrient deficiencies and insufficient scalp circulation.

It is ideal for you to look at various herbal and non expensive remedies to treat your hair loss problems rather than going for excess use of harsh chemicals or expensive hair transplant treatments or even drug therapies that will aid in hair growth. Go here https://tr.im/StopHairLoss

Why not give herbal remedies a try as it is a cheaper, safer and gentler way to stimulate hair growth on your scalp

It depends on exactly what the girl looks like. I just like both, but I'd say blonde usually goes well with everyone. Some cannot pull black off.

Honestly We don't think that it really concerns to most guys. Most girls merely look better with different lengths associated with hair depending on their face condition

properly short hair makes you seem a lot more clean and it makes you seem to be like you have a good feeling of style and long makes you seem more manly and playful
