Ok. I raley straighten my hair because heat damage is bad for hair, and I trim it every 4 weeks yet I continue to get slit ends and its really frustrating. I have THIN hair and its curly so I do put MOUSSE in it everyday. Is this bad for my hair or is there another reason I keep getting split ends?

Anything that is not a natural thing that you put in your hair WILL damage it (yes, even mousse, even though it isn't as bad as things like hair spray).

It might be also that you are drying it out to much in the shower. Make sure you use luke warm water for your hair, never hot! And only shampoo every other day.

Day 1: Shampoo and conditioner

Day 2: Only conditioner

Day 3: Shampoo mixed with conditioner, then conditioner again

Day 4: Only conditioner

Trust me, shampoo does a number on your hair!

I used to straighten, I never do now. I don't even brush my hair, just run my fingers through it to make sure I don't agitate it. Curly haired people can pull off not brushing! :)

Avoid using hot tools on your hair, i know its hard if you do, but if you do try using a spray in thermal protector (matrix sleek look, step four) and no putting mouse in your hair isn't bad for your hair as long as you wash it out, but don't wash your hair too much, washing it everyday can also cause it to become dry and cause split ends too. Split ends are common though and everyone gets them, just make sure to trim your hair often to avoid getting really bad ones.

It might be the brush you're using. Are they cutting enough hair to get rid of your split ends or are they leaving some damaged hair after they cut it?

Make sure you're conditioning after your shampoo. Deep condition every week. Get a good brush and don't use too much heat.

Hmm... I wouldn't think mousse would hurt hair. They do make stuff that helps prevent split ends. I use Herbal Essences Long-term Relationship split end serum. It works okay. I don't know...you could try that. Good luck!

Yeah mousee is bad for hair , but not as bad as straightening it.

i guess you just get split ends faster than others because it's thin? i get them pretty fast too, i guess its normal

it depends on how long your hair is

it's natural to have split ends when you have medium to long hair

the only way to get rid of split ends is to cut it

some are just prone to splitting

especially fine hair

You can't prevent split ends, split ends are normal and everyone has them
