cowlicks are genetic, you get them from your family, so blame them.
you can condition your hair to tame the cowlick by styling the cowlick away while your hair is wet and drying that part of your hair with a blowdryer.

"Cowlicks" are genetic; you're born with them and they're always there. Some are easier to deal with than others (some people are born with more than one!). Some haircuts disguise them better than other haircuts. Work with the person who cuts your hair for the best haircut for you. Styling products such as mouse can also help hide the pattern your hair grows in.

Sorry.. Genetics... You are better off learning to style your hair around them, use them to your advantage. Change your part or use styling products such as gels or waxes.
