Seriously i bought a GHD straighter and it broke, bought another, same thing. Went to Big W, bought a $99 Joh Bailey straightener (with a leather case, a funky heat mat and its wet and dry) and i have had nothing but straight hair since??? Why are GHD so expensive?

Can I tell you one thing that is 100% true? My sister is a product manager for a large electrical company and all the products are virtually the same. All are made in China and the only difference is the logo and maybe small modifications. Most even are from the same company in China. This is dead set true.

You are paying for the name, but you're paying for the service too. You should have returned to broken GHD flat iron to the salon you bought it from; they would have replaced it and mailed your old one back to the company. That's the difference in product price, for the most part. I hope you enjoy your new flat iron.

you are paying for the name, basically...

many "cheaper" products are better quality/perform just as well without the expense...

you're paying for the name. that's society for you. more money is not always better quality.
