My hair has been thinning for about 3-4 yrs now...people said that it gets thinner as you grow older...but now its horrible. My hair is less than half of what it used to be..and my hair is mostly thin where I consistantly parted my hair...I'm losing about 200 hairs a day....and its seems like soo much more after I came back from overseas...it fell less there than usual and now that I'm back even more than ever before. I'm only 18 so hair loss isn't definetely something I should be worrying about. I usually blow dry my hair like every other day but i haven't done anything to my hair for the past four months cuze of hair thinning...so last month I started taking vitamins thinking it could be nutrition deficiency....but i haven't noticed any difference

Hmm, see a doc, too early for male pattern baldness.

For older men there are several forms of baldness. If it is male pattern baldness (Androgenetic alopecia) then the hairloss cannot be fully cured in most cases, but just frozen for some time with the treatments availiable on market today.

1) Hair transplant (FUE technology) creates really natural hairline, no scars, the best way to go if you have enough donor hair and money of course.

2. Propecia (Finasteride) and Minoxidil are the only ones approved by FDA and proven to work in most men so far.

But before you consider to start propecia you must really study about the side effects. It can mess your hormones real bad if you are not

lucky, so you must choose, hair or these side effects. Quite a big perecent have these side effects, more than Merck - the company that holds

Propecia trademark is saying. see www.propeciahelp.com

Generic Propecia (finasteride) is also ok. I use it with same results, and unfortunately same sides(a bit dry feeling in the scalp) as brand propecia. Have tried lots of herbal c..p before it and laser combs, so far the only thing that prevents my hairloss, not much regrowth, but has stopped my hairloss completely.

I buy from this pharmacy for the last 2 years - http://www.1rx.biz/generic_propecia.html . It is under $1 per pill as I buy the 90 pills. (89$ for 90)

200 hair a day is a lot (did you actually counted?). considering that an average person loses up to 100 hair a day, i say you are thining. But don't be alarm, up to 80% of Cauasian men experience some form of pattern balding. So you're not the minority. Environmental and genetic factor influences your thinning. Taking vitamins would help, but I don't think it will make a significant improvement. You make want to consult a physician or a specialist for better methods of slowing down your thinning.

Don't panic. There are many options for hair loss. There's always the hair club which offer semi-permanent hair replacements. This can be expensive. There's also topical remedies (http://www.provillus.com/?aid=587078) which have been shown to regrow hair. Make sure you select a product that is FDA approve. The process is slow, but more than likely, you'll get some hair back.

To make the balding less noticable, try combing your hair back. It's stylish and may cover some of the thinning regions. Also, I would skip the blow drying all together. It will damage what little hair your have left. But if you can't go without blow drying, do not aim at the scalp. This may cause more damage to your hair follicles. The fact that you have been overseas, there can be some factors related to that. I went to germany once and my hair was thinning too and im about your age. My friends in Germany that came from overseas experienced the same thing too. What i think is that probably the water that they use or maybe unhealthy diet. What you have to do is that you have to take care of your hair. If you can avoid dying,blow-drying, straightening, etc. that can make your hair became unhealthy that soon will cause hair loss. What i suggest is that you eat healthy diet , don't eat junk food, oily food, etc. instead eat more vegies, grains, meats, and other foods with a lot of vitamins especially vitamin E (if i am not mistaken) which is vitamin for hair to make is strong. Do not wash your hair everyday... skip a day. Because sampoo is not made from all- natural ingridients and it is not good for your hair if u are overwashing it. 9also choose shampoo for hair-loss). Also don't do stuffs that make u stress because this factor can cause hair-loss too. If this is not helping. Just go to the doctor and ask them what's wrong and what to do

There are several possible causes of hair loss. I may be because of hormonal , improper diet, undergoing different kinds of hair treatments like coloring and straightening, and stress. Healthy diet, enough time of sleep, regulart exercise and not worrying too much can prevent this problem. I know how you feel because I once had abnormal hair falling, too.
