Does the foam hair dye work?

I've been dying my hair for years and I hate having to do it myself with normal hair dye so I'm curious to see if the new foam is as good as regular hair dye. I've read a couple things that say it only dyes the roots and it damages your hair, is that true? I don't really care if it only does the roots because I'm just touching up the roots since they've grown out too much, but I don't want to damage my hair more than it already is from dying it and straightening it all the time (if it really is worse than regular hair dye). Anyway, opinions would be great thanks :)

I have used clairol nice n easy hair dye foam twice. It didn't damage my hair, and it dyed all of my hair thoroughly. It was much easier than using normal hair dye! I'd recommend it. Also for very damaged hair you can try nexxus pro-mend, it mends split ends! I straightened my hair for 3 years and this helps to reverse the damage

For me the foam worked great, it didn't damage my hair more then normal. But, then again, I have really thick hair. And I did my roots with a little highlights and it did what i wanted it to. I personally think the color turns out better too.

i prefer foam because i find it easier to handel, BUT it smelled terrible. I used one in a bright pink package, i cant remember the brand at the moment. (nice n easy i think) it seemed to loose its color after about 4 weeks. healthier hair dyes are natural instinces that last about 8 weeks.

It works well :) But like any hairdye, it works best if you're just changing your haircolor within the same level of lightness/darkness or going darker. If you want to go darker this is good!
