any straightener is good to use! As long as it works! I have a Remington one and a pink zebra Chi flat iron worth $200 bucks but lucky for me it was half off that day! I don't plan to touch any heat because it damages your hair. So in all yes it is fine just don't use it to much if you wanna remain healthy hair I have had some bad experience with heat on hair so my goal is not to use any heat for a year now so far it has only been 6 days! LOL To keep your hair looking good and healthy use TRESemme heat protect spray.
EDIT: MALIBU: I guarentee it was you who gave me the thumbs down really? i mentioned everything you put in your answer and plus you probably read mine and used it in a way that wasn't copying so now you got my thumbs down! Plus you asked "How to grow hair faster" 5 times then i see you in your activity answering the same question just another person really????

Remington is pretty reliable, I suggest however you check out the karmin titanium from karmin.ca. It's a professional brand that gives awesome results. I have it and it's the best straightener I've ever had!

In my opinion you should NEVER straighten your hair when it's wet..ever.
After years of studying hair care health I know that while straightening your hair isn't good for your hair, I'd rather you do that than use you a straightener that "claims" it can flat iron your hair while wet.
It will destroy your hair.
I don't recommend it. Invest in a good straightener like CHI, excellent brand and well worth the money. Your hair will be thanking you.
