how do you dye your hair with markers?

I've heard you can dye your hair with markers, but wouldn't ruin your hair and what kind of markers can you use?
I want to get purple or blue highlights to freak my parents out but they won't let me leave the house so i need to use household items and it has to be temporary what colour should i do i have long black hair no bangs or anything just straight long black hair

Dying your hair is a great way to express yourself. But if you don't want to spend money on dyes that might not turn out right, or don't know if you'll like the color you buy, using markers is a great quick and easy way to go.

Lol. Yeah you would be able to get some idea what your hair would look like pink but the marker might not look like what it would look like if you actually dyed it. You might as well get a semi-permenant dye and just do it. If you use Manic Panic it should wash out in less than two weeks. My sister did pink in her blonde hair just recently and it went away really quickly. If you like it then there are more permanent colored dyes you can use like Raw Color. You can get Manic Panic online or at a public hair salon supplier.

Take the felt from INSIDE the washable marker. Dip the end of that felt into water until only the tip is white. Blow on that into a container. Add conditioner and mix well. Apply to hair.

It will wash out within 1 Or 2 washes

If you have blonde hair you can use sharpies or highlighters, but the color WONT last, it will wash out. Probably the next time you wash it, maybe even a little before. Also, if your hair is dark, the colors wont show up on your hair. If you want blue streaks you can get some clip on ones at hot topic, or go to a hair salon and ask them to put it in :)

You don't really dye your hair, just get Crayola washable markers and color strands of your hair with them. They should wash right out. If you have ligt hair like blonde, sometimes they take a few washings to get it out. They also sell temporary dye you can use that lasts only a few washings. They sell it at your local drugstore or Wal-Mart.
