I paid 60$ to chemically relax my hair and i went home and ( I think I washed my hair, but i kept wetting it and rinsing it under the faucet) The next day i woke up with curly hair again. I have very curly hair. Im a guy. I got very mad and sad because iv been dying for straight hair. I will be getting a Brazilian blowout soon and hopefully that will work better. Any ideas why my hair became curly over one night? My friend told me your not supposed to wet your hair for at least a week and after that shower every other day. Help!? Brazillian blowouts are all protien and no chemicals so its complelty safe. I just have really curly hair and i want it to be straight.. I really hope this works! but any ideas on why my hair became curly again?

How old is your friend?

Relaxers Warning: they're not permanent, that's $300 - $500 each time you get them done. One I responded, she had hers done in March and this is now May? It is a billion dollar business, and they do not give money back guarantee for damaged hair or hair loss due to 'abuse', in this case, cancer.

Google Permanently straightening hair warning, about 7,410,000 results (0.08 seconds) , more warnings during the last month. I've been posting about them since 2009. Canada had issued a public health warning regarding Brazilian Blowout and has stopped the distribution of their salon product; Ireland has also issued a recall. ~ Also published in Vogue Feb. 2011.

First off when you do a relaxer you can not wash or wet your hair for 48hrs after wards or your hair will revert back to it's natural curl pattern. The chemicals in the relaxer are breaking down the bonds and it takes that 48hrs for the bonds to re-harden. Second there are so many Brazilian straightening products out right now. You need to do some research before you buy into the craze. A lot of the products are being marketed as formaldehyde free but they have derivatives of formaldehyde in them. "Aldehyde" when combined with heat such as a flat iron or blow dryer causes a chem reaction and turns the aldehyde into formaldehyde- which is harmful to breath in. I personally know 2 stylist that have have health problems since they started performing this service. Now not all of these products are bad I have heard awesome things about the Pravana Perfection Smoothout and the Global Keratin treatments. Be sure that whatever you decide to do let your stylist know what chemicals (relaxer, highlights, color...) have been done to your hair. I have had clients that didn't tell me even after I've asked multiple times, and their hair ended having to get cut due to damage from layers of chemicals. I hope I was able to help. Good luck.
