I have somewhat light brown hair (it may seem dark at times) and in the sun, it has a red tint. I wanted to know, if I were to put lemon juice in my hair, would it turn orange? I don't want to do it if that is the case but people say that lemon juice can help with dandruff problems and I do have a small case of dandruff that I want to get rid of. I am just scared that the lemons will change my hair drastically into something I don't want. Please help!! I am not sure what it will do. If it will just lighten it a bit, then I'm fine but if it will turn into a full out orange color than please tell me not to!! Thanks! (:

Also, I was just planning on trying it once to see if it will help with my dandruff problem but I am not sure if I should actually try it...

Well lemon juice is commonly used for highlighting/dying hair. It does not turn your hair orange(: And when you go to try it out, make sure you add salt into the lemon juice, which will cause for better absorption. It will effectively make your hair lighter, however if you wish to use it to control dandruff, apply to your hair often. Then wash your hair 30 mins after each use with WARM water. I know that cold water promotes shine, however wait until the dandruff has subsided before you proceed to wash you hair with cold water. And of course, once the dandruff has gone away, discontinue the use of the lemon juice because (as we ALL know(: loll) lemon juice is highly acidic and may very well damage and dry out your hair. I hope this helped(:

Lemons wont turn your hair orange, but if your spray it into your hair and hang out in the sun your hair will gradually lighten into a lighter brown. Its nothing drastic at all and very natural looking. Lemon is very acidic and can dry out your hair, it can kill bacteria but it isn't the right choice for your dandruff. Try to find a gentle shampoo and add Tea Tree to your shampoo for dandruff, dry or oily scalp, and itchy scalp. Use 10 drops to an 8 ounce bottle. It will heal a dry dandruff scalp and it works wonders for skin and nails also!

Lemon juice with lemon Kool-Aid is a better bet....but you have to do it repeatedly and for a long time each time, or it won't work right.
