if you put lemon juice in your hair and go in the sun it will lighten it.

it works better if you go in chlorine too.

Maybe try some hair color. since im not allowed to dye my hair, i've tried many things to lighten it up. I'm on the same page, i need to lighten my hair

Do you want to add highlights to your hair without using harsh chemicals? There are a number of ways to naturally lighten your hair. This season, you can highlight your hair without going to the salon. Here are some ways to naturally lighten your hair color.

Tips for Blonde Hair

If you have blonde or light brown hair, lemon juice can be used to lighten it. Unfortunately, lemon juice can also dry out your hair, causing a dull look and brittle ends. To avoid damaging your hair, try diluting the lemon juice. Mix one tablespoon of lemon juice with a gallon of water. Rinse your hair with the solution. You can repeat the process daily. The mixture will gradually lighten your hair. When your hair reaches the desired color, you can use the lemon mixture less frequently.

Spending time in the sun will also lighten hair. If you go to the beach or pool, get your hair wet and then let it dry in the sun. Over an extended period of time, this will lighten your hair. If you plan to spend many hours in the sun this summer, this process may work best for you. However, if you are anxious to have lighter hair, try spraying your wet hair with a mixture of lemon juice and water. Let it dry in the sun.

Some herbs can be used to naturally lighten blonde hair as well. Chamomile flowers work well to brighten hair and evenly add color to it. To make a chamomile rinse, steep half a cup of the flowers in one quart of boiling water for half an hour. Strain the mixture and let it cool. Wash and towel-dry your hair. Then pour the chamomile mixture over your hair. Catch the solution in a container and pour it over your head once more. Repeat this 10-20 times, depending on how light you want your hair. After the last rinse, leave the solution in your hair for at least fifteen minutes. Then rinse it out completely.

What to do with Dark Hair

It can be difficult to lighten dark hair with lemon juice, as it tends to leave orange streaks in hair. Instead of lemon juice, try using henna powder, which can be found in some health stores. Henna provides a protective layer over each strand of hair, which will make your hair feel thicker. To highlight your hair, mix henna powder with a light herb, such as chamomile. Mix enough boiling water with the powdered herbs to create a thick paste. Let the mixture cool slightly. Then comb it into your wet hair. Fit a plastic bag over it and let it sit for between thirty minutes and two hours. Leave the dye in longer for darker hair. Then remove the bag and rinse your hair. If you want faster results, let your hair finish drying in the sun. Henna can be powerful, so you may want to test a small section of hair first to verify the results.

Learning how to lighten hair naturally can help you avoid putting harsh chemicals in it. It will also allow you to save money.

Once you learn how to naturally lighten your hair, you may want to have a friend over and lighten your hair together. You can also try out new methods together. With that new hair color you can give yourself a new hair-do. Soon you will have natural highlights in your hair – just in time for summer!
