so my dad is bald on the crown of his head and my mum has very thin hair overall so you can see bald spots. mums sister has a thick, full head of hair while her other sister is also balding. I really don't want to go bald, but my hair is already getting thinner. Help! :(

ok first off don't listen to Craig, he's a guy who's friend had a bad experience and he's trying to scare you with the thought of needing steroid injections and needles in your scalp and horse shampoo. Just go to your doctor, tell them your concerns and see what they tell you to do. And don't worry too much about it, people's hair changes often and is influenced by more things than just genetics.

I think it's psychological at this point. You're freaking out. First, calm down and maybe see a hair specialist to get that looked at.

Thin hair will make it SEEM like you're gonna go bald or that it's thinning but it's probably all in your head. To claim that your hair is already thinning, I would assume that you examine your hair on a schedule and have EXACT measurements of some sort or a comparison?

You have to consider how old the adults are in comparison to you and whether or not genetics might be at play.

You're 13, you should be worrying about catching cooties from boys, not catching male pattern baldness from your dad.

I would go see a tricologist. If your mother is quite old then hair loss is quite common. First you should see whether you are really losing hair, people naturally lose about 100 hairs a day. There are products such as rogaine which can potentially slow this down, but I don't think it works for females.

Well the truth is if ur already losing ur hair then it will disappear. However if u want to keep ur hair then u have to go to the dermatologist, there the doctor will tell u wat u have to do. Most likely u will have to get steroids implanted into ur head with needles, no worries though they will numb ur head, after u will have to use horse shampoo, no lie, and u can not pull ur hair back. After all this more likely ur hair will grow back especially if ur still young.

Well first of all don't dye or bleach your hair and don't brush it to much and wash it like once or twice a week and it won't fall out to much wish you luck I know how it feels my hair falls out in chunks yuck!!
