A terrible hairstylist named Marcie at Kenneth's Hair Salon shaved my head with a #2 barrier on the clippers when I asked for a haircut. It looks bad. I asked for a #2 on the sides and back and instead she shaved the top of my head. How long til the top starts to hang again and I can have normal looking hair again?

Hairstylists, barbers, anybody?

It depends on how coarse your hair is. The coarser your hair is, the longer it'll take until your hair can hang again. I'd probably say it'd have to grow out to about 1 1/2" to 2" for it to hang and that'd take about 6-8 weeks (about a month and a half to 2 months) because your hair grows about 1/2" a month and if she cut your hair with a #2 guard, your hair is 1/4" long right now.

If you're looking to change salons that you go to, I suggest going specifically to a barbershop or any other place that has a large male clientele because they'll have more experience with exactly what you're looking for. You can also go into a salon or barbershop anytime while you're growing your hair out to have a consultation with a stylist or barber and see if there's a haircut that you can have in the mean time or to keep your sides and back short while you grow out the top. Good luck!

everyone is different when it comes to hair growth - 6 weeks should give it a good inch or more growth
