Here's a link that you can try. From experience, sometimes it's best for an up-do to be more playful than all contrived.
On the first page, 8th picture down is cute. Page 3, 3rd picture, page 7 has a lot of nice pics to choose from and from there just keep tabbing through until you find something that matches your face and style.
If all else fails, go to Wal-Mart and pick up a copy of Black Hairstyles--look for a special up-do copy. Keep in mind that the magazine or photo doesn't have to be African-American, the stylist should be able to go off a pic using a White model's up-do. Good Luck.

I always thought something like this looked nice for prom:
It's not a complete updo, but it still looks elegent and glamorous. It can be done with or without the bangs and tiara, so go ahead and have fun with it! Also, if you don't like this idea try searching 'Prom Updo Hairstyles' on google and tons of ideas will come up. Good luck and have an awesome prom! =]

yeah, straighten your hair with straighteners then curl it with tongues, tie up in a pony tail. grab the curls by section(each curl) and pin it no more than three cms away from the ponytail base, do that all the way round the ponytail and pull out a few tendrils at the side and fix with spray! there you have it a really effective way of glamming it up at no extra cost. it is easy but you might need to have a practice run first just so you know what your doing when you do it for real! good luck

I had my prom formerly interior the week, and definitely wore a gown very reminiscent of yours:) for mine, i curled all my hair and then did extremely low, casual ingredient bun with random curls clipped up and then left some around my face- in case you like a image i've got been given the assumption from Summers hair from the episode of The OC spoke of as "The Sno.c". Its elegant yet not too formal. desire this permits:)

If you are having it up go for a smooth and elegant style, something old fashioned and Audrey Hepburn style. But if your dress is typically 'prom' do something with ringlets.

When I went to my Junior prom I wore my hair up when I went to my senior prom i wore my hair down. My hair look so much better at my senior prom than I did at my junior prom.

I would wrap it with bobby pins and use glitter to match your dress like highlights for a classy fun look!
