I have light brown hair, shoulder length. In the past i had blond highlights. Hairdresser dyed it all back to my natural colour (8 wks ago). However i have noticed that root area has reddy brassy tones (old highlights under neath i think) so bought a dark brown semi perm and dyed my hair.
However the ends are lighter than the roots ? why is this? should i have put it on the ends first ? The top is dark and ends lighter brown i wanted it all dark. Any ideas where i am going wrong? Also hairdresser just put it all on at the one time but hers was even?

the heat from your scalp wouldve developed the colour quicker. put dye on your lenghts and ends first for 5 mins or so.

with a dark brown dye it shouldnt matter, but if you are finding this it may be a good idea to do the lengths first and the roots for the last 5 or 10 mins.

good luck
