On shampoo bottles, it says to lather, rinse, and repeat. Is it necessary to "repeat"? Do you "repeat"?

I do it once. Then I do it again, 4 days later.

Nope, this was a marketing gimic used many years ago by companies to earn more money. In fact, the company that "invented" this had a contest among their employees to come up with a way for the company to earn more money, and "lather, rinse, repeat" was the winning idea. So, unless your hair is especially dirty, save your money.

I only repeat if i have put a lot of product in my hair prior to washing it. I have long hair and when i want to wear it curly I have to use a ton of gel and hairspray. One wash won't remove all the product so in those cases i do repeat. Otherwise once is sufficient.

No I never repeat,I don't feel it is necessary,95% if commercial shampoos have a chemical that is called sulfate in them, this is a detergent that has been proven to cause hair loss,Loreal makes a sulfate free shampoo out now, just wanted to make you aware of this,Tomb Raider.

I sometimes noticed when living with my bf if we showered together, his hair smelled worse about the first wash, like salty. i would wash it again if thats what your experiencing, my hair is very dry so i try to only wash like 3 times a week, but if you have oily hair, wash it twice in a row!

It is not necessary unless you feel that it is really oily or dirty and needs to be washed again.
