Is organic vanilla extract an essential oil for hair?

Hi! so im trying to grow my hair out and still be health and shiny. I have super dry hair. and I was wondering is organic vanilla extract an essential oil? is it good for hair at all? Thanks for helping!! :)

No, as extracts are alcohol based and definitely not an oil.

Ylang Ylang has been used for centuries to beautify hair. Lavender and geranium are excellent for dry hair. Use therapeutic grade oils as they are not distilled with solvents that will dry out your hair further.



Just so you know, vanilla is an extract, not an essential oil, so you won't find it in essential oil reference books. :)
